Fountains for more Quality of Life, Hygiene and Health (Oparekrom)
Every time you buy a Fairtrade pineapple, you will be making a contribution of 5 US cents/kg to improving the living conditions of working families in Ghana. This money has been used to build drinking water fountains in the working villages. Even in Oparekrom, a small village 60 km outside of the capital of Accra. Many Ghanaian villages still have no access to clean drinking water. Often, it must be carried into the village from afar. This project has been carried out with one of the producers of the HPW Services network.
HPW Services AG looks after and supports producers locally in Ghana.
